Knebworth House, Gardens & Park welcomes visitors with particular access requirements.
For general admission on our open days Knebworth House, Gardens & Park operates the standard admission policy that essential companions accompanying any paying visitor may receive complimentary admission providing that they can supply a copy of one of the following.
Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
Attendance Allowance (AA)
Blind Person’s Registration
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
CredAbility Access Card with +1 symbol
CEA Card
Herts Card
Unfortunately we cannot accept blue/orange badges, carers’ passport etc.
You can pre-book your essential companion ticket by emailing info@knebworthhouse.com with a copy of your DLA, AA, BPR, PIP, AFIP, CredAbility card or Herts Card.
Be sure to purchase 1 ticket first.
Please be aware that accessible car parking spaces are available to anyone who requires it at both the playground and the barns car park, and are clearly marked. We are happy to offer assistance to visitors wherever possible and if you have any further queries please contact the duty manager on 01438 812 661 or email info@knebworthhouse.com before your visit.
As a historic building, Knebworth House does not have a lift to the first floor. However, the history of Knebworth House can still be enjoyed by visitors on the ground floor. All of the Ground Floor rooms are accessible to wheelchairs, but we kindly ask that pushchairs, electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters are not used in the House or Exhibition.
Wheelchair accessible toilets are located at the entrance of the Gardens, in the Garden Terrace Tea Room, in the House and at the Adventure Playground which are open all day on all open days.
A wheelchair is available for use from the Gift Shop. Unfortunately, the wheelchair cannot be reserved.
We welcome all Guide dogs, they are permitted throughout the House, Gardens and Park on all open days.
