~ A Day Out at Knebworth ~

Historic Knebworth House, home to the Lytton family for over 500 years, is surrounded by 250 acres of beautiful parkland including 25 acres of formal gardens.

During our visitor opening times (March to September), pre-booked groups benefit from our discounted rates and can enjoy a house tour, a gardens tour, a wander in the wilderness with the dinosaurs, or the action-packed adventure playground and miniature railway. A gift shop and a dedicated tea room, all located within close proximity to the House, complete the essential ingredients for an enjoyable day out at Knebworth.

To get the most out of your day we would recommend that you arrange to spend at least three hours with us. Charlotte Farrer, our Group Bookings Co-ordinator, is available to help you plan your visit.

We look forward to welcoming you to Knebworth.

Martha Lytton Cobbold
Managing Director

House Tours – All pre-booked group tours are guided, except on busy weekends, when “free-flow” tours operate with House Wardens in key areas. Groups will be split into parties of 25 maximum. Guided tours take approximately 1 hour, however we can vary timing if required.

House Themed Tours – With over 500 years of English history reflected in the House, tours can highlight your special interest as it relates to Knebworth history, eg. Architecture, Women’s Rights, British Raj, Rock Music, Literature (focusing on Edward Bulwer-Lytton and Charles Dickens) or Ghost Stories.
