Robert, 1st Earl of Lytton
he Raj Display in Knebworth House commemorates the great Delhi Durbar of 1877 when Queen Victoria was proclaimed Empress of India by her Viceroy, Robert, 1st Earl of Lytton.

Ganesh, the Hindu Elephant god

escribed by The Times as 'a staggering collection... fit for a museum', the Raj Display contains a unique collection of treasures, photographs, robes and mementos from India.

he display, open to view during Knebworth's open season, puts the British Raj into the context of Indian history and traces the links between the Lytton family and Sir Edwin Lutyens, architect of New Delhi, and the young Winston Churchill.
