Hundreds of lurchers and terriers prepare to compete at the inaugural Knebworth Country Show
Does your lurcher show a natural aptitude for hurdles? Or perhaps your little terrier has show-stopping confirmation? If so, why not bring your four-legged friend along to Knebworth Country Show – you might just qualify for a national championship!
Being held in Hertfordshire on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July, the brand new two-day event will put around 300 lurchers and terriers through their paces in the 12 classes, which include simulated coursing, hurdles, straight racing and numerous showing classes. Organised by The Coursing Crew, which is made up of Paddy and Christine Weaver, the showing and field events attract handlers from all over the country. As well as a rosette, the winning adult lurchers in the field events receive points towards the hotly contested Countryman Challenge Trophy 2016. Plus entrants can work towards qualifying for the Countryman’s Weekly’s Champion of Champions, the final of which is also held at the Midland Game Fair in September.
