The Great British Prom
On Sunday 20 August 2017, join us for The Great British Prom to pay tribute to British music from across the four nations, closing with a spectacular firework display!
The National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis, make their debut at Knebworth House to celebrate British music. They will be joined by Classical Brit Award winning Welsh male vocal group Only Men Aloud, Soprano Annette Wardell and a traditional piped band.
Join us for a tour through the home nations, beginning in England with songs such as the Dam Busters March, through Ireland for Danny Boy, Bread of Heaven in Wales, and the Flower of Scotland for our final nation.
Further iconic tracks will include Swing Low Sweet Chariot, You’ll Never Walk Alone and a selection from Oliver, concluding with traditional Proms favourites and a spectacular firework display.
A magnum of champagne will be awarded for the best dressed British iconic character!

5:30 pm – Car parks and gates open
The National Symphony Orchestra are joined on stage by Welsh male voice choir Only Men Aloud, Soprano Annette Wardell and a traditional piped band for a musical tour through the home nations. Beginning in England with the Dam Busters March and I Vow To Thee My Country, we then move to Ireland for an Irish Dance (Toss the Feathers) and Danny Boy. In Wales, we will hear Bread of Heaven and Calon Lan, finishing in Scotland with the Skyboat Song, Scotland The Brave and Flower of Scotland.
8:30 pm – Interval
Including further iconic tracks such as Swing Low Sweet Chariot, You’ll Never Walk Alone and a selection from one of the most loved British musicals, Oliver. We will conclude with traditional Proms favourites and a spectacular firework display.
10:00 pm – Concert finishes
