The Storysaurus Stomp, Early Years Foundation Stage
Get your early years pupils ready and motivated to write with the Storysaurus! One of our experienced Guides will greet the children and introduce them to our friendly dinosaur character, who loves to read and write. Your class will then explore the ever-popular Dinosaur Trail complete with 72 life-size dinosaurs – using our newly developed activity pack. They will discover woolly mammoths, wolves, sabre tooth tigers and pre-historic people as well. See your pupils bursting with fantastic story ideas to take back to school! This outdoor programme is available from June to early September.
This is a literacy themed day which offers the chance for EYFS children to gather ideas for story writing through exploring, active learning and being imaginative. Activities are designed to develop language and communication skills, expression and creativity through a rich and stimulating environment.
What to expect
The morning will begin with the whole class introduction using our dinosaur story sack resources. The children will then be divided into smaller groups to explore the Dinosaur trail with their adults. This is an outdoor activity so children will need clothing suitable for outdoor activities, whatever the weather.
After your morning in the Gardens, direct your coach to the Adventure Playground (June – early September) for a picnic lunch and plenty of free play. Alternatively choose our new ‘Garden Games’ option (May – September) in the formal gardens for a delightful variety of summer games chosen especially for youngsters.
Please arrive by 10.00 am to get ready for your day. We will meet your coach and show you the facilities. You will then be taken through to the Gardens where the programme starts at 10.15 am promptly If you would like to bring a snack for children to have a mid morning, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
If you would like to book a visit to the Gift Shop during the lunch break, please indicate this on the booking form. Students will enjoy browsing the wide range of affordable souvenirs. Alternatively, we can make up pre-paid themed goody bags to various price points. Please discuss with the group bookings team.
At 12.00 midday, your coach will take you through the Deer Park to the Adventure Playground for an afternoon’s free play. The Playground is available from June – September. Outside of these dates, teachers may choose to organise games on the Park or in the Gardens. The Group Bookings team can advise and recommend options. There are covered picnic areas at the Playground for schools to use to have their packed lunches. Please advise when booking if you would like to use the bouncy castle and our fantastic drop and Astro slides (height restrictions apply). Most schools depart at around 2.15 pm in good time for the trip back to school.
