ST. MARY'S CHURCH

St. Mary's Church, Knebworth

isitors to the Church will be well rewarded. The main features are the nave and chancel of about 1120; the West Tower of about 1420, built by Sir John Hotoft, grandfather of Sir Robert Lytton; and the North Chapel, which is filled with monuments to the Lytton family.

Tomb of Sir William Lytton (d.1705) he three early 18th century tombs are amongst the finest in the country and commemorate Sir William Lytton (d.1705), Sir George Strode (d.1707) and Lytton Strode Lytton (d.1710). The former two tombs are by Edward Stanton; the third is attributed to T. Green.
